Product Description: Wood Sealer and Base Coat: This product provides a durable, water-resistant varnished or hand-rubbed finish for furniture, accent pieces, trim and kitchen areas (except work counters). Do-it-yourselfers can achieve a quick Antique finish. Slow drying Wood sealer and base coat makes brushing or wiping on easier.
Directions For Use: Clean or strip waxed furniture with Wax remover and thoroughly wash down the surface with Reducer for wood sealer.
Preparing The Wood: For unfinished wood, sand the surface with fine sand paper in the direction of the wood grain, and use the Antiquing stain in the color of your choice for a final stain. For antique wood: Remove the old wax with the Wax remover. Eliminate dirt and stains with Heavy-duty deep cleanser.
Application: Apply the Wood sealer and base coat with Woodworker's polishing cotton in a circular motion which becomes progressively larger, making sure to fill the wood pores. Once it dried, take off any rough spots with Steel wool No. 0000. After waiting four hours, apply a second coat of Wood sealer and base coat. Once it has dried, remove any rough spots.
Finishing Ideas: For a waxed finish, apply Buffing wax. For a polished, non-waxed finish, apply one coat of Rapid French polish finish. For a French finish, apply Rapid French polish finish, then Medium cleaner and finish restorer, ending with an application of Mild finish cleanser.
IMPORTANT: The application ideally should be done in a temperature of 64 degrees to 68 degrees Fahrenheit (18-20 degrees Celsius) and away from any drafts to avoid condensation. In case of any condensation marks, apply the Reducer for wood sealer with Woodworker's polishing cotton lightly over the surface until the condensation marks are gone.
